Assistant Editor, Documentary Feature

A deep dive into the lives of unsung community heroes, this intimate documentary feature needs an organized Assistant Editor to join our post-production team. We're crafting a hopeful and inspiring narrative, so a keen eye for detail and strong storytelling instinct is essential. You'll be responsible for media management, syncing, creating dailies, basic assembly, and preparing timelines for final edit. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their documentary post-production skills on an independent production. We need someone who is proficient with DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro. Please have 2-4 years of experience as an Assistant Editor on documentary or narrative projects, and be able to share a reel or work samples demonstrating your organizational skills and foundational editing capabilities. We anticipate about 3 weeks of work, starting the last week of October 2026, with flexible hours. This is a deferred pay position, but we are committed to seeing the project through to distribution. While our lead editor is in Los Angeles, remote collaboration is absolutely fine, though proximity could be a plus. We expect you to use your own workstation and software licenses.
