Camera for Short Film

A man grapples with his impending fatherhood by reliving a traumatic childhood memory. We're an independent production seeking a skilled 1st Assistant Camera for an emotionally resonant dramatic short film shooting in New Orleans. This is a character-driven story with a slightly surreal, intimate tone, and we'll be relying on close-ups and precise camera movement to convey the protagonist's inner turmoil. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining critical focus and assisting the DP with camera setup and lens changes. Experience with cinema cameras (e.g., Blackmagic, RED, Arri) and wireless follow focus systems is essential. Please have a current reel or work samples showcasing your focusing abilities. We're looking for someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and has excellent communication skills. Anticipated shoot dates are 1-2 days in November 2026, with exact dates TBD. We're looking at 10-12 hour days. Compensation is $200-400/day, depending on experience and gear contribution (if any). We'll provide craft services, meals, and water on set.
