Gaffer for Indie Feature, Miami

A coming-of-age drama about a young musician rediscovering their voice in the vibrant streets of Miami needs a senior Gaffer to lead our lighting department. This independent production is searching for a talented individual who can craft evocative visuals that complement the intimate and emotional tone of our story. You'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plan, working closely with our Cinematographer to achieve the desired look and feel, managing the lighting crew, and ensuring all equipment is handled safely and efficiently. We're looking for a Gaffer with extensive experience on feature film sets, ideally with a strong portfolio showcasing work on dramatic narratives. You should be familiar with various lighting setups, comfortable working with both natural and artificial light sources, and adept at problem-solving on the fly. While we have a lighting package secured, experience with your own specialized equipment or a preferred rental vendor is a plus. The shoot is currently scheduled for approximately 3 weeks of work, starting around December 4, 2026, in Miami, FL. Hours will be standard 12-hour days.
