Gaffer (Lighting) for Brooklyn Doc

Documentary Lighting Brooklyn, NY any Budget: $250/day flat

Shooting in Brooklyn, NY, we're looking for a skilled Gaffer to join our independent documentary production for an estimated 10-12 days of work, primarily spread across late October 2026 and early November 2026. This project explores the vibrant, unsung communities of a local neighborhood, aiming for a naturalistic, intimate feel with cinematic depth. We need someone who can work efficiently, adapt to various locations (from small interiors to outdoor spaces), and help us achieve a visually compelling story while maintaining a low-key presence. We're keeping our crew nimble and collaborative. You'll be responsible for overseeing all lighting aspects, working closely with our DP to translate their vision into practical setups, managing a small lighting package, and ensuring safety on set. We're seeking someone with experience (even if early career) in documentary or narrative lighting, who owns a basic lighting kit (LEDs, stands, modifiers), and can share a reel or examples of their work. We'll provide additional specialized gear as needed, and meals/crafty will be covered. Day rate is $250 flat. Looking forward to hearing from you.
