Post-Production for Feature Film
A coming-of-age drama about a young musician finding their voice in the Chicago independent music scene needs a dedicated Dialogue Editor. This is an independent production, a character-driven story exploring themes of identity and artistic passion, with a grounded, naturalistic tone. We are looking for someone to help clean up and polish all spoken dialogue, ensuring clarity and consistency throughout the film. Key responsibilities include noise reduction, equalization, de-essing, synchronization adjustments, and creating a cohesive sound for all dialogue tracks. While we prefer some experience, we are open to working with passionate individuals at any stage of their career who have a keen ear and a strong work ethic; a reel showcasing previous sound editing work, even student projects, would be a big plus. You should have access to your own editing software and workstation. Post-production will be primarily remote, but we'll have occasional in-person meetings here in Chicago, starting in early November 2026 and running for approximately 3-4 weeks of focused work. This is a volunteer position, offering valuable credit on a feature film and meals provided during any in-person collaboration sessions.
