Documentary Production Austin, TX any Budget: Negotiable

Austin, TX - We're seeking a skilled Camera Operator for an upcoming independent documentary project shooting primarily in the second half of November 2026. This is a compact, heartfelt film exploring local community initiatives, focusing on authentic interviews and vérité moments. We're looking for someone with a good eye for natural light and candid storytelling, who can contribute to a visually engaging narrative. Key responsibilities include operating our primary cinema camera (Sony FX6 or similar), collaborating with the DP on shot composition, maintaining equipment, and ensuring consistent footage quality throughout the shoot. You should be comfortable working independently and as part of a small, agile crew. While gear is provided, strong experience with professional cinema cameras and a valid driver's license are essential. Please submit a reel showcasing your documentary or narrative work. Shoot dates are flexible but will involve about 5-7 days of work within that November window, mostly daytime hours. Meals, local travel, and a competitive negotiable rate are included. We're aiming to find our operator by the end of November 2026.
