Senior DP, Atlanta Doc Feature

Documentary Cinematography Atlanta, GA senior Budget: $2000-3000/week

Seeking an experienced Director of Photography for an independent documentary feature exploring the revitalization of Atlanta's historic music scene. This project aims for a cinematic, intimate, and authentic feel, capturing untold stories and performances with a focus on visual storytelling. It's an exciting opportunity to craft a compelling visual narrative that supports a powerful subject matter. Your primary responsibility will be to lead all visual aspects of the production, ensuring a high-quality, consistent aesthetic throughout. This includes developing the visual language, setting up lighting, operating cameras, and managing a small camera team. We're looking for someone who can work efficiently in varied environments, from intimate interviews to live performances, often adapting quickly to changing scenarios. You should be proficient with professional cinema cameras (e.g., Alexa Mini, RED Komodo, FX9) and possess a full lighting and grip package suitable for documentary work. Please include a link to your cinematography reel or portfolio demonstrating your documentary experience. This is a senior-level role requiring at least 5-7 years of professional DP experience, specifically in documentary or unscripted projects. We anticipate shoot dates primarily over about 3-4 weeks in late October or early November 2026, with some potential pickups. Daily hours will vary but typically range from 10-12 hours. We will provide all production insurance, location permits, and meals on set. Compensation is $2000-3000 per week, depending on experience and gear contribution.
