Tech's Impact on Screenwriting Structure - Thoughts?
Hey fellow writers, Nina here. I'm deep into outlining a new sci-fi pilot, and I've been playing around with some of the newer AI tools for pre-vis and even some of the more intuitive, visual-based editing software just to map out scenes. It's making me wonder about something bigger.
With how quickly these tools are evolving (especially AI starting to assist with storyboarding and scene blocking) do you think it's fundamentally changing how we approach traditional structures like the 3-Act or the Sequence Method? Are these advancements making it easier to experiment with non-linear storytelling or unconventional pacing without getting lost? Or are they perhaps even paving the way for entirely new structural approaches that weren't feasible before? Just curious to hear your takes on this.
