Sound Design for Music Video

An indie pop-rock music video, full of vibrant colors and whimsical, slightly surreal visual effects, needs a creative Sound Designer. We're looking for someone to craft an immersive sonic landscape that complements the energetic track and dreamlike visuals, going beyond just basic audio mixing. This isn't just about cleaning up dialogue, it's about building texture and atmosphere. You'll be responsible for sourcing or creating unique sound effects, layering ambiences, and shaping the overall sonic identity of the piece, working closely with the editor. We're looking for someone with a strong portfolio showcasing their sound design work, particularly for music-driven projects or short-form content. You should have your own professional-grade sound design software and a good library of effects, though we can budget for specific custom sounds if needed. The shoot is a 1-day studio shoot tentatively planned for November 2026, but the bulk of your work will be in post-production, which we anticipate starting in mid-November 2026 and lasting about 3 weeks. You can work remotely, but Chicago-based talent is a plus for occasional in-person check-ins if desired. This is a flat rate of $250 per day for your post-production work.
