Sound Design for Short Film

A haunting secret unfolds in the oppressive quiet of a southern gothic home. We're seeking a talented mid-level Sound Designer for an upcoming independent short film filming in Atlanta, GA. This dramatic thriller delves into psychological tension and features a minimal score, making the soundscape absolutely critical to conveying mood and building suspense. Your work will elevate pivotal moments and define the film's overall atmosphere. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing all sound effects, designing ambient tracks, and assisting with dialogue cleanup and mixing. We need someone with a strong portfolio showcasing dramatic storytelling through sound and experience delivering final audio for short-form content. You should ideally have your own software and a well-equipped home studio for initial design work and mixing. While not strictly required, familiarity with ADR integration would be a plus, given our ADR supervisor is coordinating this hire. This is expected to be about 3 weeks of work, primarily remote, starting late October 2026 and concluding by mid-November. We'll require a few in-person collaboration meetings in Atlanta.
