Sound Design for Pilot
A jazz musician's past comes calling in a city simmering with secrets, forcing him to confront a dangerous choice. We're seeking a talented mid-level Sound Designer for an independent pilot production, shooting predominantly in Nashville, TN. This project is a gritty neo-noir drama with strong character development and a moody, atmospheric tone. You'll be responsible for all post-production sound elements, including dialogue editing, foley, sound effects, and creating a cohesive, immersive soundscape that enhances the narrative tension and emotional depth. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the director and editor to define the sonic vision, sourcing and designing custom sound effects, mixing all elements to industry standards, and ensuring clean, impactful audio. We're looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of experience in sound design for narrative film, a strong portfolio showcasing your work (a reel is essential), and proficiency with industry-standard DAWs and plugins. You should have your own workstation and software. The pilot will require approximately 3-4 weeks of post-production work, primarily in the last two weeks of November 2026 and the first two weeks of December 2026. Compensation is $300-500/day, commensurate with experience and the scope of work. While this is a pilot, we aim to deliver a high-quality product to attract further investment.
