Sound Designer, Short Film (Brooklyn)

A coming-of-age drama about a young musician rediscovering his passion, set against the vibrant backdrop of Brooklyn. We're seeking a talented entry-level Sound Designer for an independent production, a story rich with urban atmosphere and musical moments that need careful crafting. This film balances intimate character moments with the bustling energy of the city. We need someone who can help us build a compelling auditory world. Key responsibilities include creating custom sound effects, mixing dialogue, foley, and music, and ensuring overall audio clarity and emotional impact. You'll work closely with the director to realize the sonic vision. Candidates should have their own professional sound editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, DaVinci Resolve) and a strong reel demonstrating creative sound design work for narrative projects. Experience with location sound cleanup is a plus. We anticipate post-production to begin around October 17, 2026, requiring approximately 3-4 weeks of dedicated work, flexible remote and in-person (Brooklyn, NY) hours. Daily rate for this position is $500-800, depending on experience. We're a small production company committed to fostering new talent.
