Sound Design for Feature Film

Feature Film Sound Design 🌍 Remote entry Budget: $2000-3000/week

Seeking an entry-level Sound Designer for an upcoming independent feature film. We need someone who can immediately jump into creating an immersive audio landscape for our project, a gritty, character-driven crime drama set in the underbelly of Miami. The story follows a former diver caught in a smuggling operation, and the sound design will be critical in building tension, atmosphere, and a sense of claustrophobia both above and below water. Think distinct ambient textures, impactful foley, and nuanced soundscapes that reflect the character's internal struggles. Key responsibilities include creating, editing, and mixing all sound effects, ambiances, and foley, ensuring seamless integration with dialogue and score. You'll be working closely with our post-production team to realize the director's vision. This is a remote-friendly position, though local candidates in Miami, FL are welcome to utilize our shared workspace. We expect the sound design phase to be approximately 6-8 weeks of work, starting around November 11, 2026. Applicants should have a strong understanding of sound theory, proficiency with industry-standard DAWs, and access to their own professional sound design software and equipment. While this is an entry-level role, a strong reel demonstrating previous sound design work, even on shorts or student films, is essential. Please highlight any experience with underwater sound or unique environmental sound design. This is a paid position, offering $2000-3000/week, depending on experience. We provide all necessary film materials and creative direction; you bring the sonic magic.
