Color Grading for Short Film
Albuquerque, NM (remote OK) based independent production is seeking a talented Colorist for an upcoming short film, a nuanced drama exploring themes of memory and regret. This project offers a unique opportunity to shape the visual tone of a compelling narrative, designed to make an impact on the festival circuit. We are looking for someone who can elevate the film's emotional depth through sophisticated color grading. Key responsibilities include creating cohesive looks across diverse footage, performing primary and secondary corrections, and collaborating closely with the director to achieve the desired aesthetic. We expect you to have your own grading suite, software, and calibrated monitor. A strong reel showcasing your work on narrative projects, especially dramas, is essential. We're open to remote collaboration, but local candidates are encouraged. Post-production will run from mid-November 2026 through the last week of December 2026, with an estimated 3-4 weeks of dedicated work for color. This is a deferred pay position, common in independent filmmaking, with compensation tied to the film's distribution and success.
