Gaffer for Sci-Fi Comedy Web Series (Atlanta)

We're looking for a talented and experienced Gaffer to join our crew for an upcoming independent web series. This project is a quirky sci-fi comedy, think "Rick and Morty" meets "Parks and Recreation," with a focus on practical effects and a bright, stylized aesthetic. We need someone who can hit the ground running, bringing creative lighting solutions and a positive attitude to our set. This is a crucial role, helping us establish the visual tone and ensure our talent looks great under diverse lighting conditions. We're aiming for a polished, professional look despite our indie budget. Key responsibilities include designing and executing lighting setups, managing the lighting department, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and working closely with the Cinematographer to achieve the desired visual style. You'll need to have your own basic G&E kit, though specialized items will be rented as needed. Applicants should have at least 3-5 years of gaffing experience on narrative projects, ideally with a strong portfolio showcasing creative lighting. Please provide a reel or work samples that highlight your skills. The shoot is planned for approximately 3 weeks of work in October 2026, with an additional 1-2 days of prep prior. Days will be 10-12 hours. We'll provide craft services, meals on set, and a supportive, collaborative environment. We're excited to find a gaffer who can bring our unique vision to light.
