Lighting for Short Film

We need a Gaffer who can bring their vision and technical skills to our upcoming independent short film, a grounded sci-fi drama exploring themes of memory and connection. Think \"Arrival\" meets \"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,\" with a strong emphasis on mood and visual storytelling. You'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plan, working closely with the Cinematographer to achieve the desired aesthetic. Key responsibilities include managing lighting equipment, overseeing the electrics team, and ensuring safety on set. We're open to all experience levels, but a portfolio or reel demonstrating your lighting capabilities is essential. Proficiency with various lighting instruments, grip gear, and electrical distribution is required. We're planning a 2-day shoot around mid November 2026, likely consecutive weekend days, in the Chicago area. We'll provide a full lighting package, generator, and crew support.
