Cinematography for Documentary
Our upcoming documentary, a compelling exploration of regenerative agriculture practices in California, needs a dedicated 1st Assistant Camera. This project aims to bring awareness to sustainable farming methods through intimate profiles and stunning natural landscapes. We're looking for someone who shares our passion for environmental storytelling and wants to contribute their skills to a meaningful independent production. Key responsibilities include precise focus pulling for our primary camera package, maintaining and organizing camera equipment, and assisting with setup and breakdown. You'll be working closely with me, the Cinematographer, to ensure smooth operation on set. While we can provide our core camera package (likely a Sony FX6 or similar), bringing your own essential 1st AC kit (tools, monitor, measuring tape, etc.) would be a significant plus. Experience with documentary workflows and working in variable outdoor conditions is valuable, but we're open to all experience levels if you have a strong work ethic and a demonstrable reel. Shooting will involve approximately 10-12 days spread across late October 2026 and into November 2026, primarily during daylight hours, with some potential early morning or late evening golden hour shoots. Meals will be provided on shoot days, and you will receive credit appropriate to your role. This is a volunteer opportunity, perfect for building your resume, expanding your network, and contributing to an impactful story.
