Directing for Commercial

Looking for a seasoned Commercial Director for a 3-day shoot between mid October 2026 and late October 2026. This paid position offers $200-400/day. We're producing a dynamic, upbeat commercial for a local Montreal-based artisanal food brand, focusing on fresh ingredients and community. The tone will be warm, authentic, and visually engaging, suitable for social media and local TV spots. This is an independent production with a passionate small crew, offering a great opportunity for creative input. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the producer and DOP on shot lists and storyboards, directing talent, and overseeing the visual storytelling to achieve the client’s vision. We expect about 2-3 days of pre-production work, followed by the 3-day shoot. We are providing camera, lighting, and sound equipment, but any specialized gear you'd like to bring to the table is a bonus. You should have a strong portfolio demonstrating successful commercial directing experience, particularly with food or lifestyle brands. A compelling director’s reel is essential. We value directors who can inspire a crew and bring out the best in non-professional talent. Some travel within the Montreal area may be required. Lunch and snacks will be provided on set.
