Director, Independent Feature Film (NY)

Seeking a Senior Director for an independent feature film shooting approximately mid November 2026 for about 20-25 days. Rate is $200-400/day, based on experience. We are an indie drama with elements of magical realism, focusing on intergenerational family dynamics set in a vibrant New York neighborhood. The script explores themes of memory, healing, and cultural identity with a warm, intimate tone. This is a character-driven piece that requires a nuanced directorial hand. Key responsibilities include leading the creative vision, collaborating closely with the DP and cast, guiding performances, and maintaining a cohesive artistic direction from pre-production through principal photography. We are looking for someone with a strong visual style and a proven ability to tell compelling stories. You should have experience directing at least one feature film or multiple high-level short films. Please provide a directing reel or links to your previous work. We operate with a small but dedicated crew and value a collaborative spirit. The production will provide all necessary equipment and a core crew. You will primarily be based in New York, NY for the duration of the project.
