Art Director, Gritty NYC Short Film

Our upcoming short film, a gritty, character-driven drama set in the hidden corners of Brooklyn, needs a talented Art Director. This compelling story explores themes of resilience and redemption, offering rich visual opportunities to define the world of our complex characters. We're looking for a senior Art Director who can translate a strong script into a visually distinctive aesthetic, crafting environments that feel authentic and lived-in. You'll be responsible for concept development, set decoration, prop sourcing, and supervising a small art team. This includes creating mood boards, managing the art budget, and ensuring all visual elements align with the director's vision. We expect about 3 weeks of prep work starting in November 2026, leading into a 4-5 day shoot, also in November 2026, primarily in Brooklyn. You'll need to provide your own art kit essentials and have experience working on independent productions with limited resources. Please share your reel or portfolio showcasing relevant art direction work for consideration. This is an equity partnership opportunity for a dedicated individual.
