Art Department for Documentary

Documentary Art Department Atlanta, GA entry Budget: Deferred pay

Seeking an Art Department Assistant to jump in immediately and support our upcoming independent documentary. This project is a character-driven observational piece exploring Atlanta's unique underground music scene, focusing on the passion and grit of emerging artists. The tone is authentic and raw, aiming to capture genuine moments without artifice, though our visual approach is thoughtful and considered. You'll be assisting with prop sourcing, set dressing prep, organizing materials, occasional on-set support, and general administrative tasks for the Art Department. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a real production. We're looking for someone enthusiastic, organized, with a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to learn. No specific gear is required, but reliable transportation around Atlanta is essential. Prior experience on a set is a plus, but passion and a strong work ethic are most important. Please include a brief paragraph about your interest in documentary filmmaking or the art department. Prep will begin in early October 2026, with principal photography planned for the last week of October 2026, followed by some pickup days in early November 2026. We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of intermittent work. Meals and on-set transport will be provided; compensation for this entry-level role is deferred.
