Art Department for Pilot

Los Angeles, CA, independent production pilot shooting for approximately 3 weeks in late November or early December 2026. We are seeking a senior Production Designer to lead our art department. This project is a character-driven sci-fi drama with a grounded, atmospheric tone, exploring themes of memory and consequence. We’re looking for someone creative who can deliver big ideas on a practical budget, creating a visually distinct world that feels both futuristic and familiar. Your primary responsibilities will include conceptualizing and executing the overall visual design of the pilot, managing set dressing, props, and art department crew, and collaborating closely with the Director and DP to bring the vision to life. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Candidates must have significant experience (5+ years) as a Production Designer on narrative features or pilots, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work. Experience designing for sci-fi or genre projects is a plus. You should be familiar with the LA vendor landscape for props and set dressing. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Compensation is $2000-3000/week, commensurate with experience. We will provide all necessary art department supplies and a dedicated budget.
