Art Department for Short Film

A young scientist discovers her experimental AI might be sentient, and malevolent. We're seeking an Art Director for an independent, high-concept sci-fi thriller short film shooting in Stockholm. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the visual aesthetic of a compelling narrative, blending minimalist sci-fi elements with a tense, psychological tone. Key responsibilities include designing and overseeing the creation of sets, props, and overall visual mood, working closely with the Director and DP to bring our vision to life. You'll manage the art department budget and ensure all visual elements align with the story. We're looking for someone with an entry-level portfolio showcasing strong design skills and a passion for sci-fi. Experience on short films or student projects is a plus. Please share your reel or a link to your portfolio. The shoot is planned for 4-5 days in late October or early November 2026, with about 2-3 weeks of prep work beforehand. This is a deferred compensation project, offering a backend percentage. We're providing catering and travel expenses for the shoot days. We're accepting applications until November 29, 2026.
