Gaffer for Brooklyn Music Video Shoot
An independent production is seeking a talented Gaffer to lead our lighting team for an upcoming music video project. This dynamic video features a rising indie-pop artist, blending vibrant, stylized visuals with emotional depth. We're looking for someone creative who can help us craft unique lighting schemes to match the song's energy and tone, transforming various Brooklyn locations. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating with the DP on lighting design, overseeing equipment setup and breakdown, and managing a small lighting crew to ensure efficient and safe operations. We need someone with at least 3-5 years of gaffing experience, particularly on music videos or narrative shorts, who has a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, electrical distribution, and safety protocols. Please provide a reel or portfolio showcasing your previous work. The project requires someone who can bring their own basic grip and electric package suitable for a small to mid-sized production; a larger lighting package will be rented by production as needed. We anticipate a 1-2 day shoot, likely in late October or early November 2026, with an additional half-day for prep. This is a paid position, offering $300-500 per day depending on experience and gear provided. We'll provide craft services, lunch, and a positive, collaborative set environment.
