Location Scout/Manager, Doc Project

Documentary Locations Brooklyn, NY any Budget: TBD

We're gearing up for a 1-2 day shoot in Brooklyn, NY, around November 10, 2026, for a thought-provoking independent documentary project. This film explores the hidden stories within urban landscapes, focusing on the character and history embedded in specific, often overlooked, locations. It’s a compelling look at how environment shapes narrative. We need a skilled Location Scout/Manager to help us find and secure the perfect spots. This is a TBD compensation role, open to all experience levels, from eager newcomers to seasoned pros. Your primary responsibility will be identifying and securing unique, visually interesting locations within Brooklyn that align with our documentary's gritty, authentic tone. This includes scouting, obtaining necessary permits or permissions, coordinating access, and being present on shoot days to facilitate location needs. Familiarity with Brooklyn neighborhoods and local film permits is a huge plus, but not strictly required for someone with excellent research and negotiation skills. We're looking for someone resourceful and detail-oriented. Please share any relevant scouting experience or a reel/portfolio if you have one. Hours will be flexible during prep, with about 10-12 hour days during the shoot. We'll cover any location fees, travel expenses, and provide meals on set. We're looking to make a decision by November 5, 2026, so please reach out soon if you're interested.
