Locations Scout/Assistant for Sci-Fi Web Series

When a brilliant but eccentric scientist invents a device to track parallel dimensions, he quickly learns that not all versions of himself are friendly. We are seeking an entry-level Locations Scout/Assistant to join our independent sci-fi web series, an ambitious project with a dark, humorous tone and compelling character arcs. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a dynamic set. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the Locations Manager in identifying, scouting, and securing suitable filming locations across Los Angeles, coordinating logistics for location access, and helping manage set operations on location days. This will involve securing permits, communicating with property owners, and ensuring locations are kept clean and restored. You'll need reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and strong organizational skills. Previous experience or coursework in film production, especially in a locations department, is a plus but not strictly required. Please submit a brief resume or summary of relevant experience. This is a deferred pay position, common for independent productions looking to share in future success. We anticipate a 1-2 week prep period in October 2026, followed by a 4-5 day shoot, also in October 2026. Daily hours will be approximately 10-12 hours during shoot days. We will provide mileage reimbursement for scouting and production-related travel. Meals and craft services will be provided on set during production days.
