Locations Manager, Feature Film (Brooklyn, NY)

Feature Film Locations Brooklyn, NY senior Budget: Co-producer credit + backend

Filming a character-driven independent feature in Brooklyn, NY, primarily in October 2026, we're seeking an experienced Locations Manager. This is a gritty, grounded urban drama with a psychological thriller undercurrent, emphasizing authentic, lived-in spaces. We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of prep starting early October 2026, followed by a 4-week shoot. Your core responsibility will be securing and managing all shooting locations, from initial scouting and photography to permit acquisition, logistics, and on-set management. This includes liaising with property owners, navigating NYC permitting, and working closely with the UPM and Director to ensure locations align with the film's tone and production needs. You'll also manage a small team, including an assistant. We need someone with extensive experience managing locations for independent feature films in New York City, particularly Brooklyn. Strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of local permitting processes, and a resourceful, proactive approach are essential. You should have a proven track record of problem-solving under pressure and maintaining positive relationships with property owners and residents. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required. Please share a resume detailing your relevant filmography and, if possible, a brief portfolio showcasing previous location work. This is a partnership opportunity, offering a Co-producer credit and backend participation. While we're a small production company, we're committed to fair treatment and a collaborative set. We aim to review applications and conduct interviews throughout October. Please submit your materials by November 16, 2026.
