Location Scout/Manager, Manchester Web Series

Looking for a proactive Locations Scout or Manager for a web series shooting in Manchester. This is an equity partnership role, offering a share in the project's success rather than upfront pay. We're aiming for a 1-2 week shoot period in November 2026, primarily weekends and some weekdays, with prep starting immediately. We need someone who can hit the ground running. The project is a gritty, character-driven drama exploring the lives of young adults navigating the city's underground music scene. Think raw, authentic storytelling with a touch of dark humour. We need someone who can find compelling, visually interesting, and accessible locations that enhance this tone, from back alleys and industrial spaces to intimate flats and quirky venues. Your key responsibilities will include location scouting, obtaining necessary permits and permissions, managing location logistics during the shoot, and liaising with property owners. Experience in independent productions is a plus, but we're open to all experience levels if you have a strong portfolio or demonstrable passion and understanding of the Manchester landscape. Access to a vehicle is highly desirable, and familiarity with local council filming guidelines would be a huge asset. We're a small, dedicated team and will provide location fees as negotiated, basic catering during shoots, and a fantastic opportunity to gain significant credit on an ambitious project.
